I got an idea for this scene after doing some random searching in google image search and finding this small picture of a buddhist temple, with very beautiful decorations on each gable. I'm kind of a fan of eastern architecture and japanese garden so this image kind of painted itself when I finally got started :>
This also gave me an opportunity to study how to balance great amounts of detail and colour. Painted in Photoshop, took about 15 hours over couple of days. I'm quite happy with the finished image, nothing too much out of place..yet
