Autumn is propably my favorite season, it feels like nature is really showing off it's colors. Every year I'm trying to look what is happening out there, how the light and colors are interacting and working together. Sometimes I take little notes and photograph reference material with my pocket camera.
In this painting I wanted to put down some of the things I've seen and illustrate the ideas I had. So mostly this painting worked as am empty canvas to study autumn, there's not a big story to tell. But you could sense there is some quiet tension in the air.
I feel this painting is also heavily inspired by Open Season concept art I've seen but I didn't want to move in so cartoony style. There are still some cartoony elements and maybe the end result isn't as realistic as I first planned, but at least some of the autumn colors are there.
